We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow in Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence to join the Centre for Cyber Security, within the Department of Computer Science.
The School of Computing & Engineering is a research-intensive environment where academics developing tomorrow’s technology teach the next generation of computing and engineering professionals. The School aims to build upon its success in the Research Excellence Framework (REF2021) by investing in its facilities and staff across its broad range of engineering and computing disciplines. Cyber Security is a key strength and growth area of the Department.
The focus of this role is to undertake research within the Centre for Cyber Security on projects involving the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques to Digital Forensic and Cyber Security projects. This includes a diverse range of projects covering topics such as automating investigative processes including digital forensics, autonomous defence systems, authentication, and access control. These application areas cover both model-based and data-driven Artificial Intelligence approaches.
In addition to working collaboratively on ongoing projects, you will also have sufficient time to advance your career through a balance of involvement in research projects and the possibility to pursue your own research goals.
You will hold a Doctoral qualification in a relevant area and have a track record of research outputs. With a passion and interest in applying Artificial Intelligence to Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, you will be able to demonstrate creative approaches to solving challenges. The work will also involve collaborations with industrial partners, so good communication skills will be essential and previous experience of liaising with the industry will be an asset.
