About the Role
The School of Languages, Linguistics and Film is looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work closely with Principal Investigator on an ERC funded project entitled “Digital Al-Andalus: Radical Perspectives Of and Throught Al-Andalus”. The post-holder will undertake research and impact activities connected to the study of digital cultural artefacts linked to the project’s themes particularly understanding how digital media has provided a space in which to memorialise Al-Andalus in collaboration with, and under the supervision of the PI.

This is a fixed-term and full-time post available due to research grant funding.

About You
You must hold a PhD in Cultural Studies, Media and Communication, Digital Cultures, or other relevant subject in Humanities and Social Sciences. You must have prior experience in planning and delivering public engagement or outreach activities, data collection and analysis, and writing up research results. Your English writing skills must be accessible, accurate, and engaging, and you should have a high level of proficiency in Spanish and/or Arabic. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills, and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and possess strong interpersonal skills to deal professionally with people at all levels.

The post is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 36 months, with an expected start on 1st June 2024 to 31 May 2027 and available due to research funding. The salary will be £40,223 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
