The Patil lab at the MRC Toxicology Unit is looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to join their team. We are a diverse team spanning multiple scientific disciplines, including microbiology, metabolomics, and bioinformatics.
We are looking for a computational biologist / bioinformatician to work on metabolism-centred modelling of microbial evolution and interactions. We are particularly interested in candidates enthusiastic for developing new tools for model-guided yeast engineering.
The MRC Toxicology Unit offers excellent research infrastructure and support for personal development. Candidates will be encouraged to bring their own ideas to the project and learn new skills in, for example, metabolomics.
Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant discipline such as bioinformatics or metabolic engineering and have a strong research background in microbiome or metabolic modelling. A good publication record in peer-reviewed journals is required.
