The Department of Computer Science at Brunel University London is seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Computer Science who can contribute to teaching and research within our successful and supportive department. The Department of Computer Science holds an Athena Swan Bronze award and is keen to further increase the proportion of women in the department.

Brunel’s Computer Science department offers undergraduate programmes in Computer Science and Business Computing and postgraduate taught programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science & Analytics and Digital Service (UX) Design. The successful candidate will play a substantial role in the delivery of teaching across one or more of these programmes and provide specialist support for final-year projects and/or masters dissertations. The department welcomes applicants with teaching expertise relevant to any area of our programme curriculum.

Research in Computer Science at Brunel is internationally recognised. Our research is ranked 7th by discipline in the UK by performance ranking of scientific papers (NTU, 2023) with 40% of outputs rated world leading in REF2021. Our department has particular strengths within the following research areas:

The successful appointee will have the potential to contribute high quality research that enhances at least one of above departmental research areas, through journal publication, research income generation and engagement with stakeholders.

The department strongly supports interdisciplinarity and a number of university-wide research centres provide exciting opportunities to work collaboratively on key societal challenges. Computer Science staff also benefit from co-location with the university’s Artificial Intelligence Living Lab which provides world class facilities bringing together computer scientists, health scientists, social scientists and engineers.
