The University of Roehampton is recruiting to the role of International Student Engagement Coaches. 

We have an exciting opportunity for International Student Engagement Coaches to join the Student Support and Success Directorate to work at the heart of our work to support students to reach their full potential. We are looking for inspirational individuals who have a passion to make a positive difference to our students, have a ‘can do’ approach to work and work well within a team environment. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. To monitor the attendance of international students, and proactively arrange and lead intervention meetings when the required threshold is not being met.
  2. To support international students who are at academic risk of not continuing and/or completing their studies.
  3. To proactively identify trends and pattern so to engage students who may breach the Student Route Attendance and Engagement Policy.
  4. To develop, manage and monitor the impact of engagement plans with students identified as ‘at-risk’ in relation to not achieving good student outcomes. 

The successful candidate will have skills and experience in:

  1. Previous work within education providing practical academic support and guidance to international students, or similar experience.
  2. To be able to communicate in a clear, accurate and professional manner, both verbally and in writing to a range of internal and external students, staff and stakeholders.
  3. Understanding of the types of issues international students face and the impact these can have disengagement and progression.
  4. Ability to learn administrative systems, such as SEAtS, to take a proactive approach.
