About this role: The Academic Governance Manager provides specialist professional support for the delivery and continuous improvement of the University’s academic governance activities and plays a key role in ensuring decision-making is effective and well-informed. As Academic Governance Manager, you will support a portfolio of senior committees yourself, including our Academic Board. You’ll also advise a wider network of committee secretaries and officers across the University, setting and maintaining service standards, developing and delivering training, and being on hand to provide guidance and support as needed.
You’ll work regularly with colleagues at the most senior levels of the University, preparing briefings on relevant external policy developments, and leading continuous improvement projects to drive good academic governance practice across the institution.
About you: You are highly organised and meticulous, with a commitment to delivering excellent services. You combine excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage knowledgeably and credibly with a wide range of colleagues, including those in senior roles. You have experience of supporting committees or similar formal groups and are keen to develop your skills further. Politically aware, you are genuinely interested in how government policy emerges and evolves.
