Job Description
Bath Spa University is recruiting a Legal & Information Governance Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can take ownership of managing and responding to all Freedom of Information and Data Protection requests and support wider information compliance initiatives.
About the Role
As the Legal and Information Governance Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for those seeking advice on information compliance matters within the University. You will manage all statutory information requests made under the FOIA, DPA and EIR and ensure that effective systems are in place to enable timely, accurate responses are provided within the statutory deadlines. You will also help ensure our policies and procedures comply with the legislation and you will support information compliance generally, e.g. by assisting with Data Protection Privacy Assessments and Data Sharing Agreements and by providing advice and training to clients on information compliance. You will also have the opportunity to support the wider legal team with their tasks and project work.
About You
Knowledge of the Information Compliance legal regimes and relevant practical experience in dealing with Information Compliance matters, including responding to Freedom of Information requests and to Personal Data Requests.
You will have strong IT proficiency, excellent written communication skills, (with an eye for detail) and be able to work well under pressure, whilst prioritising your workload and meeting tight deadlines. You will also have a flexible approach and be an effective team player, who enjoys a variety of different work, as in addition to managing information requests, you will play an important role in an array of work designed to ensure information compliance, and you will also have the chance to develop your knowledge and skills by supporting the wider work of the legal team.
Educated to degree or equivalent level or worked experience evidencing the necessary skills.
This successful candidate will be required to attend the University one or two days a week, would be able to work remotely/from home on the other days.
