About the Role
The Wolfson Institute of Population Health harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health and preventive medicine.

The postholder will work in Centre for Evaluation and Methods (CEM), a new and thriving research centre that incorporates four collaborative units working closely together to deliver outstanding research based on their combined and complementary research strengths.

The postholder will contribute to the development of grant proposals, help design and plan clinical trials, data analysis, contribute to publication of results and methodological research relevant to the design/analysis of studies and evaluation of health interventions within the Barts Clinical Trials UnitThe postholder will also contribute to student education and experience through teaching and supervision activities relevant to their research expertise. The Senior Statistician will provide a key role in development and support of a new programme of trials and methodology within the centre.

About You
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience, knowledge of clinical trials, statistical computing code (e.g. Stata or R), and experience of applied statistics, developing statistical analysis plans and communicating with non-specialists. For the Grade 6 role, a postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience, and experience analysing clinical trials and cohort studies is essential and experience of meta-analysis as well as teaching statistics, is desirable.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campuses in London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 2 years. The starting salary will be Grade 5/6, in the range of £42,405 - £58,595 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance. Staff are currently hybrid working, there will be an expectation to work on site approx. 3 days/week.
