The School of Histories and Humanities at Trinity College Dublin seeks to appoint a talented individual to a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in the history of the modern United States. This post will be based in the Department of History and affiliated to the Trinity Centre for Gender and Women’s Studies, and we would especially welcome applications from candidates with research interests and teaching experience in the history of genders, women’s history, and/or the history of sexuality/sexualities in any period of U.S. history since 1865.
The primary purpose of this post will be to engage in teaching and research in the history of the modern United States within the Department of History, and to contribute to delivering the School of Histories and Humanities’ interdisciplinary M.Phil programme in Gender and Women’s Studies. The successful applicant will have a PhD in History or a related field and must demonstrate a proven ability or evidence of potential to establish a strong record of research and publication in the history of the modern United States, and particularly in the history of genders, women’s history and/or the history of sexuality/sexualities.
Context
The Department of History and the Trinity Centre for Gender and Women’s Studies require a candidate to take a leading role in the development of research and teaching capacity in the history of the modern United States, and in the delivery of the School’s M.Phil programme in Gender and Women’s Studies.
