The post holder will be required to develop the skills to be an NMC assessor and both teach and support students in their academic and practice modules. In addition, the post holder will assist in student recruitment, maintain and establish new practice learning opportunities and support students as a personal tutor.

About you

You must be an enthusiastic, innovative graduate mental health nurse with current mental health NMC registration. You will have at least one year post registration experience and be able to demonstrate experience in supporting students within a clinical and/or educational setting. You will be conversant with the NMC future standards and be competent in being able to teach those skills as required by the NMC proficiencies.

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and lead and manage work delegated to you as well as develop the skills to plan and deliver academic modules and undertake marking and moderation associated with these. You will be highly motivated to assist students to achieve particularly those experiencing academic and personal vulnerabilities. You will display excellent communication skills which will enable you to confidently network with new and existing partners of the course program and university.

Qualifications

Essential;

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Relevant professional qualification – Current NMC registration
  • Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale

Desirable;

  • Master’s degree in relevant subject
  • Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
