The UCL Ear Institute is seeking a highly motivated Lecturer (Grade 8) or Associate Professor (Grade 9) in Audiological Sciences to undertake and advance audiological research and teaching. The grade of the appointment will be determined based on the level of experience and seniority of the candidate offered the post.
The post holder will be expected to deliver a programme of research that integrates with the Institute’s current research profile and advances basic and/or translational research related to audiology. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to audiology teaching and assessment at the Ear Institute, leading on specific modules, supervising research projects, and working with team members to improve quality and effectiveness of clinical theory and practical training for undergraduate and post-graduate Audiology programmes. Additionally, the post holder will provide tutorial and pastoral support for students and may deliver other teaching across UCL.
The post holder will also be expected to promote interaction between research and teaching staff at the UCL Ear Institute and clinicians at the Royal National ENT Hospital and other NHS hospitals, including via engagement with the NIHR-UCLH Biomedical Research Centre 'Hearing Health' Theme.
During term time the post holder will be expected to work on site at least 4 days per week if 1.0 FTE, or at least 3 days per week if 0.8 FTE. There is the opportunity for more flexible working outside of term time, and this can be discussed with the successful candidate.
