The Role
The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for professionals working in health and social care settings including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, diagnostic radiography, clinical psychology and public health. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Advanced Clinical Practice, Independent Prescribing and Global Healthcare Management.
We are looking for a Senior Technician/ Skills Instructor (Healthcare Simulation) to support our clinical skills teaching and simulation sessions. You will work as part of the School Healthcare Simulation Technical Team, and will assist with the operation, organisation, maintenance, safety and security of healthcare simulation spaces, classrooms and related facilities specifically to support our Health and Care courses. You will also contribute to the delivery of clinical skills sessions, in particular Conflict Resolution training.
Our Successful Candidate
You should hold a BSc (or have equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline and have experience of providing technical support for clinical skills teaching or healthcare simulation, maintaining and updating equipment, or experience of working in a healthcare setting. You will need to be confident in delivering training to staff and students, and experience of delivering mandatory training or skills demonstration is essential to the role.
Additionally, you will be proactive and have excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills and be committed to equality and diversity. The ability to learn new skills and pass these on is essential to the role.
