Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Head of Educational Partnerships (Programme Management) to join our friendly and busy Centre for Educational Partnerships in leading the overall management and coordination of educational partnerships on behalf of the University. This leadership role will provide key support to the Head of Educational Partnerships in streamlining the day-to-day operations, resources, policies, procedures and longer-term planning to implement the objectives of the University’s Educational Partnerships Strategy.
About the role
This is an exciting time for the Centre for Educational Partnerships and the University as we finalise the implementation plan for our Educational Partnerships Strategy. As Assistant Head of Educational Partnerships (Programme Management), you will play a key role in overseeing all aspects of Centre for Educational Partnerships owned processes and procedures for the management of programmes with partners, particularly in the areas of contract management and compliance across the partnership lifecycle, risk assessment and management, student numbers forecasting on an intake-by-intake basis, setting term dates and academic calendars, and supporting the University’s professional services departments and academic schools in the day-to-day running of academic programmes with franchise, validated, TNE and other partners and agents. You will have responsibility for monitoring the performance of partner institutions through analysis of data and implementing processes for the collection and curation of data with partners, where required, for initial partner proposals, new business cases, new programme development, academic approval of delivery and actual student recruitment against set caps and targets, as well as planning and carrying out regular visits to partners for monitoring and other purposes.
The Assistant Head of Educational Partnerships (Programme Management) will additionally serve as TNE lead for existing provision, as well as scoping further opportunities.
About you
You will be a proven leader with a positive approach to working within a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, with a strong understanding of the HE environment and processes, as well as familiarity with the purpose of the various regulatory bodies, including Office for Students (OfS), and experience of working within an academic quality or programme development context.
We are looking for someone with a strong approach to project management, with proven experience of establishing and maintaining effective procedures and the ability to analyse problems whilst using your initiative in recommending appropriate solutions. You must be able to communicate and negotiate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
You should be an effective line manager, with the ability to present yourself and the University to a variety of different audiences. A key part of your role will involve discretion in handling confidential information, with a focus on building trust through a business partnering approach.
Additional information
You will normally be expected to spend a minimum of 40% of your time at either the main University campus at Newton Park, Bath, or at Bath Spa University London, unless travel to partners in each week dictates otherwise.
You will travel regularly to visit our partner institutions across the UK, with occasional international travel required.
