Project Coordinator (0.8-1.0 FTE)

We are recruiting an enthusiastic Project Coordinator to provide high quality administrative, logistical and financial support across a portfolio of research projects led by scientists within the LSHTM Infectious Disease Epidemiology Department based at KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme in Kenya and Haramaya University in Ethiopia.  

The post-holder will develop a good understanding of funders’ terms and conditions, work collaboratively with administrative and scientific colleagues, and support the development of a portfolio of projects in sub-Saharan Africa.  The post-holder should have proven financial management experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.   

The post-holder will have higher education to degree level or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience. They will have substantial relevant experience of providing proactive administrative support in Higher Education (or similar environment) and working closely with academic staff members. This post is full-time 1.0 FTE, 35 hours, and fixed term until 31 March 2025, with possibility to extend depending on funding.   We will also consider part-time arrangements at 0.8 FTE, 28 hours per week minimum. The post is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and NIHR and is available from 01 May 2024.

The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale Grade 5 in the range £38,282-£43,947 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
