The Department for Health at the University of Bath invites applications for the position of Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Health and Exercise Science.
About the role
This role will contribute to our growing research strength in understanding, evaluating and harnessing lifestyle behaviours (e.g., exercise, physical activity and/or nutrition) as strategies for the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases. You will join one or more of our established research centres according to your specific research interests.
The teaching required of the role is related to evidence-based approaches to population health, including epidemiology, within the public health strand of our BSc Health & Exercise Science. You may also contribute to the MSc Global Public Health and Policy commensurate with your particular research expertise (e.g., exercise and health disparities, physical activity and global health, surveillance of lifestyle behaviours nationally and internationally, etc.). We value contributions to the academic community and therefore expect the successful candidate to engage in teaching support such as personal tutoring, dissertation supervision, course development and other administrative activities as they arise.
The proposed start date is 1st September 2024, and the post is advertised on a permanent basis.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with an emerging track record of research and teaching in health and exercise science.
