About the Role
The Cancer Research UK Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU) specialises in research to advance cancer prevention, early diagnosis and screening. We perform research on efficacy, cost-effectiveness, and technologies to improve existing and establish new screening programmes.
We are recruiting a Trial Coordinator to join our team working on an ongoing trial, FINESSE trial (FINasteride Evaluation in Surveillance for proStatE cancer). Funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR), the overall aim is to investigate whether finasteride, an existing drug that slows prostate growth and reduces the protein prostate specific antigen levels, can be used to improve active surveillance by reducing the number of men who undergo surgery or radiotherapy needlessly.
Working with the Trial Manager, you will support with the delivery of all aspects of day-to-day coordination and take the lead on central, remote, and on-site monitoring activities.
About You
We are looking for an individual with experience in clinical trial coordination, data management and monitoring to support and contribute to the data management and co-ordination of the FINESSE trial. You will have a good understanding of clinical trial regulations, GCP and research governance standards, and be skilled in clinical trials administration/coordination with experience from the NHS, academia, or industry.

The Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis (CCSPED) brings together globally leading researchers focusing on cancer prevention, cancer screening and detection and early diagnosis across two units. CCSPED also hosts the cross-cutting Cancer Behavioural Science group and the CRUK-funded Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU, Director, Sasieni).
