Early Career Teaching Fellow in Modern & Contemporary Literature

The Opportunity:

The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures is looking to appoint an Early Career Teaching Fellow in English Literature to join its vibrant teaching and research community.

The department is looking for candidates in the area of Modern and Contemporary Literature.

We are looking for a candidate who can teach widely across the subject area, in particular contributing to core teaching in modern and contemporary literature. The successful candidate will have a PhD in the period and will have a demonstrable record of research activity.  

The position is full-time (35 hours a week), and each is available for a fixed term of 12 months from 1^st September 2024.

Please note that while the School of Literatures, Languages & Cultures operates with a hybrid working model, all teaching is delivered in person and on campus.

Your skills and attributes for success

• PhD in a relevant field of English Literature at the time of application.
• Experience of undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, including design of course materials.
• Experience of marking and assessment of student performance at undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching level.
• Experience of undergraduate and/or postgraduate dissertation supervision.
• Experience in using IT effectively for teaching and learning, as appropriate to the role.
