Short summary
The HSM will be required to provide competent advice, (as required by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, 1999) on all aspects of health and safety at work and assist the SHSM in the management of safety within the Institute. Perform active monitoring including safety inspections and investigations, with subsequent production of written reports and some budgetary responsibility. The role will call for excellent interpersonal skills and dedication to compliance, establishing, maintaining and reviewing Safety Policy in line with changes in legislation, best practice and identified problems through appropriate risk assessment. You will also be involved in key institutional initiatives such as the infrastructure/building projects.
It is essential that all members of the Health and Safety team have the competence and flexibility to support the entire team function. As a team the Health and Safety Advisors will be expected to work as both generalist and specialist advisors.
