College Registrar at St Catharine’s College
Based in the heart of Cambridge, St Catharine’s College is looking to appoint a College Registrar who will be responsible for overseeing governance and ensuring the smooth running of the College’s committee system (in compliance with the Statutes and Ordinances) and supporting the College Officers in ensuring compliance with relevant University, College, and other legislative requirements. The College Registrar will also be the Governing Body Secretary and responsible for GDPR and information governance.
This new role is a key position in the governance structure supporting the Governing Body (the Trustees) of the College, reporting to the Master (Chair of Governing Body) and working closely with the President and other key members of College, including the Senior Tutor, Bursar, Operations Director and Development Director.
The work of the College Registrar is wide-ranging in order to support the diverse business of the College. Underlying this role is an in-depth understanding of College Statutes, By-laws, policies and procedures, enabling the postholder to provide well-reasoned and appropriate advice to the College’s Governing Body and Committees. They will also have a thorough understanding of the challenges of an academic environment and relevant governance and GDPR compliance experience.

The post is part time and is being offered as a 0.5 FTE. Remuneration will be £45,000 to 50,000 FTE pro rata dependent on skills and experience.
The tenure for this post will be permanent and the successful applicant will be elected to a Bye-Fellowship which offers additional privileges within the College community.
The successful applicant will be subject to a six-month probation period.
