We are seeking an experienced Communications and Multimedia Coordinator who will be based in the Department of Engineering's Electrical Engineering Division in West Cambridge. The Electrical Engineering Division is one of the largest of the six divisions within the Department comprising 28 academic staff, around 90 research staff and 150 graduate students, all supported by a team of 14 technicians and 16 administrative support staff.
You will provide central coordination for the all the Division's marketing and communications activities and will promote the work of the Division through such activities, as well as assisting in organising internal and external events for the Division which will include road mapping workshops and management meetings. You will be required to liaise with other colleagues within the Division, external companies and Funding Agencies, as well as other administrative offices across the Department and wider University.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or possess an equivalent level of practical experience. You will have demonstrable marketing and communications experience and an intuitive appreciation of what is likely to be successful in marketing terms. Experience of using social media and building vibrant communities of followers. Experience of video production, including proficiency in the use of a video camera and video editing software to create short films. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills with ability to form trusted relationships with all types of stakeholders, as well as excellent English language skills and a good journalistic writing style in order to produce compelling copy on technical issues for a lay readership.
