Join the dynamic team behind Design HOPES! We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Project Assistant to help with the day-to-day running of this major AHRC- funded project. Design HOPES brings together design-led research and healthcare experts to help meet urgent Net Zero goals for a sustainable health and social care system.

FTE: 0.5 (17.5 hours per week)
Term: Fixed to 30/09/2025

The Department of Design, Manufacture and Engineering Management is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join Design HOPES (Healthy Organisations in a Place-based Ecosystem, Scotland), a new £4.65M Green Transitions Ecosystems (GTE) project funded by the AHRC.

Design HOPES will create new opportunities to support both existing services and new design-led health innovations in collaboration with NHS Boards across Scotland, the Scottish Government, patient and public representatives, health and social care partners, the third sector, academia and industry. During the initial funded period, we will deliver a rich mix of tangible outcomes such as new innovative products, services, and policies.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work closely with colleagues across the project to assist the delivery of a range of events, and to help with the day to day running of the programme.

You will have prior experience of university procedures and have strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail. You will be able to respond independently to queries and use sound judgement to solve problems.

Your communication skills, both written and interpersonal, will be excellent and you will be able to work comfortably with a wide range of colleagues from different backgrounds.

The role will be offered during the initial funded period for Design HOPES, until 30th September 2025. Working hours will ideally be 5 half days a week, with some flexibility. Applications are particularly welcome for those looking to expand their skills through a secondment.

Informal enquiries about the post can be directed to Madeleine Rooney, Head of Operations: Design HOPES, madeleine.rooney@strath.ac.uk.
