About Us

People Technology Solutions is responsible for the design and delivery of HR & Payroll digital services for over 9,000 colleagues across the university. The team consists of three collaborative hubs who are driven by service improvement and innovation: Digital Services Management, People Data & Analytics and Service Design & Improvement.

About the Role

The Digital Services Management team are responsible for managing and improving the day to day running of KCL’s HR & Payroll System, PeopleXD, through the delivery of new software features and solutions. The team has recently started the roll out of the Workforce Management module, and we are looking for a system administrator to join the project to help us with the release of this technology to the wider university. The initial phase has been to run a pilot in two small departments before launching the module to the University.

The role holder will be responsible for a range of system administration activities including:

  • Troubleshooting system issues and queries
  • Data validation (including running reports and making data corrections where applicable)
  • Supporting the data migration of leave balances and collation of working patterns
  • Support service release activities, such as demos, liaising with the business areas and inputting into deployment plans
  • Access and Security

The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent customer service and engagement skills. The role holder will also require a good understanding of the data protection legislation.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31/07/2025

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • Advanced IT skills using MS Office software, particularly MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, able to confidently liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience of using People XD or another Human Resources system or similar large relational database
  • Understanding of data quality and integrity issues
  • Understanding of data protection and governance issues
  • Ability to manage own workload and work with minimal supervision

Desirable criteria

  • First degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in Higher Education
