Role & Responsibilities:

Working within our Student Experience team, you’ll provide high-quality support to Surrey students, fostering a sense of belonging and community with your collaborative and creative approach.

In this varied role, no two days are the same, so you’ll need to be flexible, agile and able to adapt at short notice. Some shift work will be involved, including evenings and weekends, with shift patterns provided well in advance.

Other duties include:

  • Facilitate the development and growth of diverse student communities from confirmation through to graduation, supporting students to find their community and foster a sense of belonging for all, whether that is through cultural, academic, social or interest-based groups.
  • Collaborate with university departments and external partners to leverage resources and support for community-building efforts.
  • Plan and coordinate, in collaboration with student, a diverse range of events and activities that cater to the interests and needs of students. Develop programming initiatives that promote cultural awareness, personal growth, and community engagement. Ensure events are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with university values and policies.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with student leaders, community members, and university stakeholders to disseminate information, share resources, and promote engagement opportunities.
  • Utilise various communication platforms, including social media, newsletters, and student forums, to connect with students and raise awareness about community initiatives and events.
