Location: de Havilland Campus, Hatfield
The Department of Estates is looking for an Assistant Campus Manager to work within the Facilities Team at the University of Hertfordshire. The role is a campus-based role supporting the Campus Manager in the Facilities and campus management of a large estate.
The Facilities Team is responsible for a range of areas such as cleaning, grounds, signage, waste, events, signage, and facilities standards. The successful candidate will be required to act as Estates Business Partner for a range of schools and deliver an excellent customer service.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will be the lead on ensuring the campus delivers an excellent first impression and a high standard of service excellence. You will support the campus management approach ensuring that campus projects, disruptions, and events are delivered successfully. You will also be expected to develop and lead on a range of auditing schedules including first impressions, in-house partners and partners suppliers as required and support with a range of facilities projects and audits across the site.
You will be the Estates Business Partner for a range of selected schools and be the point of contact for issues, and to support in resolving their issues. The role will also require you to support with Health and Safety and Facilities of internal and external spaces (in particular the compounds, first aid rooms, and spill kits) and provide detailed and accurate reports and provide recommendations where required.
You must ensure that Health and Safety processes are followed at all times (including Permit to Work and CDM) and have the ability to review and amend risk assessments in line with the latest government guidance (i.e. COVID-19).
Skill and experience required
You will be expected to have proven experience in a facilities management environment and be methodical, numerate and grammatical - capable of accurate online record keeping and report preparation. This role will require you to have the ability to plan a detailed project while delivering excellent customer service and managing expectations and, produce consistently good customer service under pressure and with interruptions.
You will have the ability to organise workload effectively, prioritising tasks appropriately with minimal supervision and have knowledge of budgetary control. You must be able to work in a team, providing cover and support for colleagues, and be able to communicate well with colleagues. You will also be required to have access to transportation to be able to travel at short notice to other sites when required.
Qualifications required
You must be educated with a minimum of A-levels or equivalent, or proven professional work experience.
