Job Summary
The Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein is recruiting a Communications and Marketing Lead to build and amplify the brand image and reputation of the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein. The post-holder will increase the reach of the Centre and raise awareness of the Centre and Hub’s world-leading research, education, and translation, by proactively identifying opportunities, developing marketing and communication strategies and campaigns and engaging with key internal and external stakeholders of the Centre. They will also lead the impact and growth activities of the Microbial Food hub.

Duties and responsibilities
- You will develop and implement a Communications and Marketing strategy for the Centre and Hub, advise the senior leadership team on successful communications strategies, and lead the creation and delivery of key messages through a range of channels and media.
- You will liaise with various teams in the Department, Faculty and College to raise the profile of education and research activities in the Centre and market the teaching programmes in the Centre to deliver student recruitment requirements.
- You will develop and manage the Centre’s website, social media platforms (e.g. X, Instagram, LinkedIn), blogs and news platforms
- You will review and create content for news, web and social platforms (including audio-visual media with the support of agencies or internal teams) appropriate to channel and audience to deliver on strategy.
- You will lead content marketing with platforms and key message strategies for each audience segment.
- You will develop and implement a marketing strategy to showcase and promote the research and translational output from the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein and the Microbial Food Hub.
- You will manage the delivery of student recruitment, communications to potential students and the conversion pipeline, liaising with Departmental, cross-Faculty and College student recruitment stakeholders.
Essential requirements
- Proven experience developing and implementing comprehensive internal and external communications strategies.
- Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) and familiarity with effective media strategies.
- Considerable experience in working with a wide range of multinational partners, and developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Extensive experience in translating scientific/technical information into communications aimed at non-experts and stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and implementing efficient communication and marketing campaigns to promote research activities via a wide range of platforms, including social media.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external
- Ability to work collaboratively and productively with colleagues and stakeholders within complex management matrices in different geographical locations.
