Through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Programme, PROVITA EUROTECH LTD in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast have an exciting employment opportunity for a graduate to work on a project to develop the next generation of natural, antibiotic-free products designed to treat and, if needed, prevent infection in farmed animals. This is particularly relevant given the currently legislative restrictions concerning the use of antibiotics and the need to use viable alternatives.
Delivery of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project for Provita Eurotech Ltd in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast to develop the next generation of natural, antibiotic-free products designed to treat and, if needed, prevent infection in farmed animals. This is particularly relevant given the currently legislative restrictions concerning the use of antibiotics and the need to use viable alternatives.
Employed and supported by a team of academic experts from the University, you will be based at PROVITA EUROTECH LTD, in Omagh, County Tyrone.
As a KTP Associate, you will lead on the delivery of the following key project stages:
Stage 1 – Review existing product range.
Stage 2 – Development of formulation science and pharmaceutical microbiology techniques.
Stage 3 – Development and manufacture of novel bio adhesive polymeric wraps.
Stage 4 – Development and manufacture of non-antibiotic, natural anti-microbial products.
Stage 5 – Development of a solid implant.
Stage 6 – Clinical assessment.
About the person:
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated DISCIPLINE graduate to work in PROVITA EUROTECH LTD (based in Omagh, County Tyrone) on a 36-month collaborative project with School of Pharmacy at Queen’s.
The successful candidate will become part of a team within PROVITA EUROTECH LTD. Provita provides natural animal health products with key areas of interest in the treatment/prevention of infection; probiotics; colostrum; electrolytes, minerals, and vitamins. The company's continuous R&D strategy has allowed it to pioneer natural animal health products which aim to replace many antibiotic and traditional pharmaceutical approaches to improving animal health. Provita services both the domestic market and exports, predominantly the US and Japan with increasing supply into Scandinavia and the rest of Europe. This is covered by a small sales team in conjunction with national distributors.
This KTP will enable Provita to expand its business and reach into new markets globally.
