The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) aims to improve teacher professional development through rigorous, impactful, and cutting-edge school-led research. Our research team plays a key role in this mission, as we work with our programme-delivery teams to test approaches to delivery and respond to the needs and questions of schools and our partner organisations in the education sector.
As a Research Impact Assistant at the NIoT, you will work with a team of dedicated professionals who are working to ensure that what we learn about effective training and development programmes has maximum positive impact on practice and policy within the NIoT and across the wider sector.
This will involve finding useful and innovative ways to share research findings but also actively inviting dialogue, feedback and contributions from educators, policy makers and other stakeholders to enrich the research we do. We want a system where information flows in multiple directions, ensuring that the research conducted is responsive to the needs of the education sector and that its findings are integrated into practice.
This is a new and exciting approach to embedding research within practice in education, and we work collaboratively to continually evolve and strengthen our approach to making research useful in teacher education practice.
