About the role
We are looking for a customer-focused individual to run Library Services at the Department of Continuing Education on Saturday mornings.
The Continuing Education library serves a diverse range of mainly part time, mature students including some with little experience of higher education. Your main responsibilities will be issuing books and helping students make the most of the library, for example by assisting them with the online library catalogue, accessing e-resources and using library facilities. You will also spend time putting the department’s reading lists onto our online reading list platform (ORLO) and checking the availability of books on the reading lists against library stock.
This is a permanent, part-time, term-time only position, working 4 hours per week, 33 weeks per year (3 terms each of 11 weeks). You will be working Saturdays 09:30-13:30 during these terms.
This role requires lifting and carrying boxes of library materials, pushing trolleys, climbing ladders and kick-stools in order to access some of the library’s bookshelves and to re-shelve materials.
About You
You will have excellent communication skills and will have experience of providing exceptional customer service. In addition, you will have good attention to detail and IT skills. You will be the only member of staff working in the Library and so it is essential that you are comfortable working on your own. Full training will be given. Experience of working in a Library and automated library management systems would be desirable.

How to apply
You will be required to upload your CV and a supporting evidence form using the attached template as part of your online application.
