The role
We are looking for an experienced epidemiologist to join the Medical School at the University of Bristol within the Department of Population Health Sciences. a multidisciplinary research team and is funded by an MRC/Versus Arthritis grant, the Advanced Pain Discovery Platform’s ‘Consortium to Research Individual, Interpersonal and Social Influences in Pain (CRIISP, https://www.bath.ac.uk/projects/consortium-to-research-individual-interpersonal-and-social-influences-in-pain-criisp/). The consortium is an interdisciplinary group that seeks to understand the psychosocial mechanisms of chronic pain.
What will you be doing?
The post-holder will examine associations between pain, psychosocial and biological factors using data from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC, www.bris.ac.uk/alspac). Alongside the work within ALSPAC, a key part of this role is work with other groups and cohort studies across the UK to support and enable harmonisation of pain data collection and analysis.
You should apply if
You should have experience of sophisticated epidemiological analysis using repeated measures, and should already have a PhD (grade J) or a relevant postgraduate research degree/working towards one (Grade I) in epidemiology, biostatistics or a similar quantitative discipline. You should have experience using relevant software, e.g. R, Stata and Mplus and be able to demonstrate a publication record in keeping with your experience to date. It is also essential that you can demonstrate team working experience.
