The Strategy & Planning Directorate is seeking to appoint a Strategic Planner whose remit will be to contribute to the further development and growth of our Strategic Planning capabilities throughout the University of Strathclyde, helping to support the senior management and governing body of the University.
The post-holder will be a key member of a Planning and Business Intelligence team whose aim is to provide high quality strategic support, advice and management information to the University’s senior management and central Faculty and PS teams, carry out policy analysis, comply with a range of internal governance and external compliance procedures and liaise with the University’s key external partners, including the Scottish Funding Council.
The post-holder is expected to deliver all aspects of planning and analysis related tasks, using their sector knowledge and skills to take on specific projects and focus on these in a dedicated way.
Reporting to the Senior Strategic Planner, and working closely with colleagues across the Directorate, the post-holder will contribute to the University’s strategic and annual planning processes, assist with the collation, analysis and interpretation of performance measurement information, assist with the tracking and analysis of policy and undertake benchmarking including analysis of external performance data.
The successful candidate for this role will possess strong analytical skills, be confident working with large datasets, have a good statistical knowledge, be able to influence others, have excellent organisational, communication and drafting skills, understand the importance of data quality, and demonstrate an excellent standard of customer services, enthusiasm, personal responsibility and initiative consistent with the grade of the post
The postholder will be responsible for providing new and innovative analytical services, provide specialist advice to colleagues regarding the usage of data to inform best practice regarding retention and progression, and contribute to University wide projects to help maximise the positive impact of informed, data-led, practice on student services related to these areas.
The post is available on a full time basis however consideration will be given to applicants seeking part time/flexible working arrangement.
