Saïd Business School is a world-renowned institution, part of the University of Oxford, delivering cutting-edge education and research. We also operate a trading subsidiary, OSBS Ltd, through which we deliver custom executive education programmes. Our Human Resource service plays a pivotal role in supporting both the School and OSBS Ltd, ensuring we maintain our reputation for excellence in both academic and professional services.
We are seeking a committed and strategic HR Business Partner to join our professional HR service. Reporting to the Director of People and Organisational Development, you will work proactively with senior leaders and managers within the School, enabling them to achieve departmental and School-wide objectives. Your key responsibility will be the development of a Workforce Plan, covering the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and retention to organisational change and development.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead HR contact for a defined client area, delivering strategic HR support aligned with business objectives.
- Develop and implement a robust Workforce Plan in collaboration with senior leaders.
- Provide high-level operational advice on HR issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, organisational change and TUPE.
- Lead on complex employee relations cases, including employment tribunals, and work collaboratively with divisional and central HR teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influencing decisions and delivering innovative HR solutions.
You will have extensive experience advising line managers on a wide range of HR issues within complex organisations, preferably in a unionised environment. You should hold or be willing to work towards a CIPD Level 7 qualification, and possess a deep understanding of employment law and HR best practices. The role requires a proactive and professional approach, with the ability to coach managers, influence senior leadership and develop effective working relationships at all levels.
