About the role:
Research and develop advanced microwave and millimetre-wave cavities suitable for maser related devices which make use of spin-defect materials (e.g. nitrogen-vacancy centres in diamond and silicon-vacancy centres in silicon carbide). You will gain experience in performing electromagnetic simulations and the experimental characterisation of masers using microwave and optical techniques. The project will take place as part of a 5-year collaboration with the University of Manchester and the University of Leeds and will ideally suit an applicant with strong experimental and computational electromagnetic (microwave and/or optical) skills.

*Candidates who have not yet officially been awarded their PhD will be appointed initially at Research Assistant (with a salary range of £43,003 to £46,297 per annum)
