Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield
The School of Creative Arts is looking for a motivated Technical Demonstrator 3D CAD and team player to support the School and work as part of a customer-focused team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant School of Creative Arts, working across the School with an emphasis in Art & Design.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will deliver high‑quality technical demonstrations in 3D software and a range of digital and fabrication techniques across Creative Arts programmes. You will provide specialist technical support for practical classes in line with current Health & Safety regulations. You will manage a broad range of teaching and research equipment within Creative Arts. A key aspect of the role involves supporting the operation and delivery of projects within the School’s digital immersive cave.
You will design and deliver content for taught sessions, ensuring the safe use of specialist tools, processes and technologies. Additional responsibilities include supporting Open Days and Applicant Days.
Skills and experience required
You will have substantial experience working in a technical role within higher education and bring practical industry experience. You will possess advanced proficiency in 3D CAD applications, with the ability to integrate digital outputs across 2D graphics, video and physical modelmaking. Knowledge of digital and interactive design is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work to deadlines, and confidence in communicating with people are essential. The role requires someone who is a team player – flexible and adaptable to workload and requirements, proactive and highly organised.
Qualifications required
You will hold a degree or equivalent in an architecture‑related field or a relevant 3D design discipline. An IOSH Managing Safely qualification is desirable.
