About the role:

We are currently seeking a EHCP Coordinator to join The Bedford College Group at our Dunstable Campus.

As an EHCP Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students:

  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality support for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) receiving High Needs Funding (HNF).
  • Undertaking students’ annual reviews in line with statutory duties
  • Undertaking training across curriculum areas to support the needs of students with EHCP and HNF
  • Marinating close links with curriculum areas to support and review students’ progress on an ongoing basis
  • Supporting students’ transition into college and to support progression opportunities in line with student aspirations

About you:

  • A Levels or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
  • Graduate and/or vocational training at an equivalent level in a relevant subject such as Education, Health and Social Sciences.
  • Experience of working with young people with SEND whom are supported through EHCP
  • Experience of working with a range of young people with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities within a supporting capacity
  • Experience of leading meetings with students, parents/carers and professionals
  • Experience of working in a further education or related setting
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, equality and diversity issues in education
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the telephone and in writing with students, staff, parents and external agencies
  • Excellent IT, administrative and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse student group
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate consistently high levels of job performance

About The Bedford College Group
The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.

Today, the Group is made up of a family of colleges across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire: Bedford College, Central Bedfordshire College and Tresham College in the towns of Bedford, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough; Shuttleworth College, a specialist land-based college; The Bedford Sixth Form, (the only dedicated sixth form in Bedford); The Corby Sixth Form, (opened in September 2023); and the National College for Motorsport alongside Silverstone race circuit. To widen accessibility to education and training, the Group also has community-based Learning Centres in Bedford, Corby and Kettering which offer IT training.
