About us
The Student Data team sits within the Student Operations directorate of Student and Registry Services (SRS). The purpose of the team is to develop, implement and maintain high quality reporting on the data relating to the applicants and students of UCL and, in doing so, contribute to UCL’s statutory reporting requirements and internal data needs.
About the role
We are looking to recruit a Student Surveys and Data Analyst to play a key role in ensuring that UCL continues to meet its statutory and internal reporting requirements in a systematic and timely manner.
The postholder will be responsible for the timely preparation, collation and dissemination of student survey data and will assist in the preparation of statutory returns and related statistical reports. They will lead on the delivery of both internal and external surveys, ensuring that they run on schedule and are set up efficiently/accurately to produce reliable and robust data, and other institutional requirements as required. The surveys will include NSS, internal annual surveys and ad-hoc as required, and the statutory returns may include HESA Returns (Student Data Futures, Aggregate Offshore, ITT), OfS Returns (HESES, Individual Learner Record and DfE teacher training reports). They will also be responsible for the preparation of internal management data relating to students and applicants to support student number planning, monitoring and funding cycles.
A key part of the role will be to engage with stakeholders in Professional Services, academic departments and faculties to identify opportunities and specify requirements for continuous improvement and to advise on data matters. The postholder will also be required to liaise with external bodies to provide data and aid them where possible, representing UCL in a helpful and positive manner.
