Applications are sought for a Research Associate position with Rob Field, Alien Miller and Jack Rowbotham group at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology. The post is part of a BBSRC supported Prosperity Partnership program, with Unilever and academic partners. The goal of the project is to identify, redesign or evolve, and deploy carbohydrate-active enzymes for the generation of sustainable and biodegradable polysaccharide materials. The post would suit someone with expertise in biocatalysis; previous experience with carbohydrate-active enzymes, molecular biology and/or materials science would be a distinct advantage. The post is available from 1st October 2024, or soon thereafter, for 2 years in the first instance, with potential for renewal beyond that.
