With industry standard workshop, our students have access to industry standard facilities, comprehensive support services and benefit from extensive links with the University of Derby and other local higher education establishments.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic lecturer of carpentry and joinery that can teach business related units across a range of qualifications including T Levels in manufacturing, processing and control, T level in Onsite construction and the Extended Diploma in Site Carpentry.
Applicants should be able to deliver C&J business related units such information and data principles, relationship management in construction, digital technology in construction and construction commercial principles. Along with this able to teach engineering business related units such as business, commercial and financial awareness, continuous improvement and project and programme management.
Whilst this will primarily be classroom based, we also require candidates to have the digital skills to deliver effective lessons using a range of online resources and platforms (for example Microsoft teams or Blackboard). Our tutors will need to be adaptable, creative and resourceful in the face of the current challenges in education.
About You
Our tutors need to be adaptable, creative and resourceful and will benefit from working in an enthusiastic rapidly growing department with other professionals using industry standard facilities and resources.
We welcome candidates with a range of experience including experienced carpentry and joinery teachers. We are however also seeking applications from recent graduates and experienced industry professionals with good communication skills, and a desire to help young people to succeed. A financial contribution towards a Cert Ed/PGCE will be available to the right candidate.
