Academic Development Programme - new Assistant Professors will undertake a 5-year development programme, at the end of which they are expected to be promoted to Associate Professor. The programme consists of a variety of development opportunities and the time to reflect and develop.

The Department of Strategy and International Business is well-respected and a prominent player in the international business and global strategy field nationally and internationally. Its members produce high-calibre research in several areas including Organisations and Sustainable Development in the World Economy, Innovation and Collaboration in Global Value Chains and Multinational Strategies, SMEs and International Entrepreneurship, and Living in a World of Global Organizations. The department’s teaching portfolio is mainly international, covering both undergraduate and postgraduate offerings in Edgbaston, Singapore and Dubai. The applicant will contribute to the delivery of our portfolio with colleagues across the department on our Business Management undergraduate suite and our MSc International Business programmes.
The successful candidate will deliver an outstanding student experience to our internationally diverse undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts, leading modules, delivering lectures and delivering and co-ordinating assessment, seminars, marking and supervision in areas relevant to their expertise. Successful applicant may also undertake leadership and service activities in line with the Department, School and College’s strategic objectives.
Role Summary
You will contribute to a range of education-related activities. In addition you will be expected to demonstrate academic citizenship, developing and maintaining mutually respectful and supportive working relationships with all staff and students, and ensuring the way you carry out your role impacts positively on how others carry out theirs.
