Are you a successful teacher of Physical Education who would like to make a difference to the next generation of teachers? The Institute of Education and Social Sciences provides high quality education and professional development and we currently have a vacancy for a Lecturer in Physical Education to join our successful team. This post will begin in January 2025 and will be based on our Chichester campus.
About this role
As a Lecturer in Physical Education you will join the team who teach on our undergraduate Physical Education degrees and PGCE courses and support our trainee teachers during their placements in secondary schools.
About you
We are looking for excellent teachers with a detailed understanding of Physical Education within primary and secondary schools, alongside the role of sports coaches within these settings. You will be able to contribute to work with Physical Education colleagues within schools and knowledgably liaise with sports coaches in professional settings. Therefore, you will require a detailed all-round knowledge of UK education systems and teaching, including but not limited to a range of sports and activities used within Physical Education; professional practice; pedagogy; inclusion and SEND; and classroom management. We are particularly seeking those with a strong understanding in pedagogy, rugby, athletics, primary Physical Education and SEND.
