The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our dynamic team at the Roslin Institute, focusing on utilising genome editing technologies to enhance the productivity and welfare of cattle. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform in vitro experiments for genome editing in cattle cells, aiming to modify the expression of genes involved in key phenotypic traits.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate AI and computational methodologies with lab-based experiments.
  • Robustly validate the effects of genomic modifications.
  • Engage with a broad team of computational biologists, genomics experts, and other researchers to share findings and refine experimental approaches.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with genome editing technologies.
  • Strong foundation in molecular biology techniques.

Preferable Skills:

  • Knowledge of animal genetics, particularly in livestock species.
  • Proven track record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals.
