About the role:
The Bedford College Group is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and seasoned professional to join our team as a Corporate Communications Executive. We are seeking an individual who is not only passionate about communications but also possesses the skills to craft compelling content across various platforms, including press releases, web, and social media.
As a key member of our Communications Team, the successful candidate will demonstrate a collaborative and positive team spirit, bringing a wealth of creative ideas to elevate our content and establish a distinctive presence across the region. Reporting directly to the Group Head of Communications and PR, the role involves delivering the Group's internal and external communications strategy, encompassing social media, PR and stakeholder communications.
You will be a team player, with a positive, creative, and curious mindset, confident in building relationships with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver results.
Educated to degree level, you will have experience of developing, implementing, and evaluating communications which are clear, consistent, and well-targeted, aligning strategic messaging across channels.
You will be experienced in writing well-written, accurate and creative content for online publications, social and digital media, and writing for different audiences. You will have at least two years’ experience of working in a PR or communications role, working with print, broadcast, and social media. You will have experience in preparing and delivering a social media engagement strategy and have knowledge of using social media management tools such as Hootsuite.
You will also be able to produce monthly and annual reports and evaluation accurately and confidently. Ideally you will have experience of supporting on crisis communications and be able to think and work well with deadlines and under pressure, whilst acting discreetly when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
As someone with good interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of seniority, as well as students from across The Bedford College Group. You will understand how local and national media operates across all platforms and have extensive knowledge of PR trends and tools, including media monitoring techniques.
The nature of the role means that some evening and weekend working may be required. The arrangement of working hours will be agreed in advance with your line manager. Regular travel will also be required across all the Groups campuses across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
