About the role

Do you have an enquiring mind and strong interpersonal skills? Do you enjoy producing high-quality research for different audiences? Advancement are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Prospect Development Manager to play a key role in building a strong base of support to maximise philanthropic income for the University and support the University’s fundraising activities.

Please note – due to recent team changes we are recruiting for two Prospect Development Manager roles. One is the permanent and the second is a fixed-term 12-month maternity cover. Please specify which role you are applying for in your covering letter.  

What you would be doing

  • You will use a range of sources to produce high quality research profiles on individuals, companies and charitable foundations for a variety of purposes and different audiences.
  • You will design and execute prospect management strategies, with responsibility for portfolio development and allocation of prospects in accordance with the Division’s prospect allocation process.
  • You will conduct regular reviews with fundraisers to provide knowledge and guidance on portfolio metrics and strategic relationship building.
  • You will develop and maintain positive relationships with fundraising colleagues and other senior members of staff.
  • You will line manage a Prospect Research Officer, ensuring that they have objectives and targets as required and opportunities to fulfil their potential.

What we are looking for

  • Experience of working in a Prospect Development team, in a role such as Prospect Researcher, Prospect Development Officer, Prospect Research Manager
  • Experience of using a range of online resources to collate information, employing varying techniques and processes for gathering and disseminating information
  • Experience of translating information into briefings and writing reports for a wide range of audiences
  • Experience of recording and maintaining data
  • Experience of Higher Education Fundraising
  • Excellent organisational skills, demonstrating the ability to manage full workloads and conflicting priorities and deadlines.

Further information

These are two full time roles, one open-ended and one fixed term for 12 months, based at the White City Campus.
