About the Role

We are looking for a Teaching Fellow in English Language for Science and Engineering to undertake a fixed term 2-year post in the Queen Mary Engineering School, in Xi’an, China to support the delivery of undergraduate programmes.

The School delivers degree programmes in materials and polymers engineering, all of which are rich in engineering design concepts, professional skills and language and communication in English in preparation for future international careers in engineering.

The QMES has been recognised as one of the top 20 international Joint Educational Institutions in China and offers an exciting academic environment to develop innovative education and scholarship in Transnational education. The role is based in London and include extensive travelling to deliver education in China for substantial periods of time.


About You

Applicants should have:

  • experience of educational delivery at undergraduate level in Higher Education and an interest in curriculum development, novel pedagogies and inclusive education.
  • a proven track record of excellent education delivery of English Language Teaching, ideally with experience of Transnational Education,
  • a commitment to providing a high-quality student experience is also essential.

QMES sits within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, a large School with over 108 academics. There are around 2500 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students and over 250 PhD students within our London operation, supported by an administrative and technical staff of around 50.
