About the Role

The School of Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London invites applications for a 24-month fixed term Lectureship in Environment and Security (Teaching and Scholarship).

The role holder’s expertise will be at the intersection of debates on environmental politics and international security, broadly defined. The role holder will be able to contribute to teaching on both environmental politics and security, particularly from a critical perspective. They will contribute to developing and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate modules. They will supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and act as a student advisor.

About You

You will have a PhD in Politics, International Relations, or relevant Social Sciences/Humanities discipline and a record of teaching at the intersection of the environment and security. You will have experience of developing and teaching relevant modules at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. You will have experience of supervising and advising students. You will have an understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved in teaching a diverse student cohort. You will be able to make contributions to scholarship (as defined in the Queen Mary Academic Careers Framework).
