About the Role
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Networks and Systems to deliver research and teaching in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). The post holder is expected to undertake world class research, contribute to the continuing enhancement of our student experience via research-led teaching, and support administration and/or outreach activities. The successful candidate will ideally join us by August 2025.
About You
You will have a PhD in Computer Science and a track record of high quality research at a national and ideally international level in networks and computer systems which includes, but is not limited to, networked systems and applications, cloud computing, Internet measurements, web computing, and/or distributed systems.
This is a research-intensive post and you should be able to demonstrate a compelling research vision with clear and ambitious plans, alongside an understanding of how you can complement our existing strengths. Queen Mary is a signatory of DORA declaration, and as such the quality of your research will be judged on its own merits.
You will also be an effective communicator of new and complex ideas with an ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of the target audience.
About the Centre for Networks, Communications and Systems
You will join the world-leading Centre for Networks, Communications and Systems, based within the School of EECS. Our research spans computer networks, distributed systems, web computing, and wireless communications. We regularly publish our work in the most prestigious international venues, including ACM SIGCOMM, USENIX NSDI, ACM Web Conference, ACM IMC, alongside numerous top-tier IEEE/ACM Transactions. Our faculty are actively involved in international community leadership, and we have previously organised several major conferences in London, including ACM SIGCOMM and ACM IMC.
