About the role
An opportunity has arisen for an Academic Regulations Officer to join the Student Administration team at the University of Sussex. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has experience of working in a regulatory role, who enjoys developing a detailed understanding of regulations and can confidently provide specialist advice and guidance to stakeholders across the University on their application.
As part of the wider Student Administration team, the postholder will work with the Academic Regulations Manager supporting the development, implementation and on-going enhancement of the University’s academic regulatory framework and the associated policies and procedures.
Support for academic misconduct procedures is also a key element of the role, requiring organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure the timely management of casework. The Academic Regulations Officer will be a key contact between the Division of Student Experience and Faculties/ Schools.
About you
You will have direct experience of working with regulations and policies within a large organisation, ideally within an HE setting. A good understanding of HE regulatory issues and current challenges in this space would be advantageous. You will have the skills to manage your own workload and be able to use your judgement to provide information, advice and guidance to a wide range of colleagues.
You will have particular strengths in written communication as well as excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Sensitivity to student experience and wellbeing matters is important for the casework side of the role.
