An exciting, full-time and permanent position has arisen within our small, friendly, campus-based e-Learning team. We are seeking an experienced learning technologist to work with us to support staff and students to use various learning technologies including Moodle, Turnitin, Panopto, Teams and SEAtS. We are not expecting you to be familiar with all these technologies as training will be provided, but substantial experience of supporting a VLE (CMS) is essential.
The job entails working with other learning technologists in the E-Learning team in the development and delivery of our e-Learning services to staff and students within the University. Working with the Head of Digital Learning, the post holder will assist with providing direction, training and quality checks within the E-Learning team, to ensure that the service is functional, enhances student experience, and promotes academic achievement. This will include supporting learning technologists with problem solving, advice and guidance, and by monitoring progress of specific projects or elements of the service. The role also requires assisting with resolving enquiries from staff and students in busy periods or to cover during staff absence, proactively designing, delivering, monitoring and improving training and guidance (both in-person and online) to staff and students and providing shared technical leadership of the administration and development of our main digital learning systems.
Applicants should have a degree, equivalent qualification or relevant experience to the role. Experience managing a VLE with administrator permissions in Higher Education and experience designing and delivering training (both in person and online) to support the use of learning technologies are essential.
