This is a strategic team management and teaching role. It will include working with students to provide both embedded and centralised academic support across the 3 Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon colleges as well as taking responsibility for supporting team members and enhancing staff and student perceptions of our identity as learning developers and key contributors to the learning environment. 

As a core member of the Academic Support Management Team at Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon you will collaborate effectively with Programme /Course Teams and with other Academic Support colleagues in the University to implement our annual operating plan and the strategic principles of the University. You will apply inclusive practices which recognise the diversity of the student and staff population at UAL, demonstrate an understanding of the specific subject disciplines taught in the Schools of Performance, Design and Art across the three Colleges, as well as curriculum development and the use of AI and emerging technologies (in line with the University’s guidance and assessment regulations).

The successful candidate will be required to support the development and design of, as well as engage in, the delivery of high-quality Academic Support tailored to the needs of individuals, groups, and subject specialisms, enabling students to develop as confident independent learners and to fulfil their academic potential. The role will include the delivery of specific initiatives that align with our strategic priorities across both undergraduate and postgraduate education at all levels and coordinating elements of the teaching and administrative Academic Support offer across the 3 colleges.  You will also contribute to the monitoring, management and development of the offer, working in consultation with colleagues within Academic Support and the wider college communities.

Your profile 

You will be educated to a minimum of Master’s degree level, possess a recognised teaching qualification (PGCert, F/SFHEA) and have significant experience of developing and delivering learning development initiatives, supporting students to fulfil their academic potential within an HE setting and managing members of a team. Excellent teaching, communication and management skills are essential, together with an enthusiastic and supportive approach that will inspire both students and staff to succeed to the best of their abilities. 

You will possess the ability to lead and work collaboratively with a team and across different professional groups. An effective communicator, you are able to adapt the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way, building and maintaining positive relationships with students and staff alike.
