We are looking for an experienced events professional to join our dynamic Conferences and Events Team.  Reporting to and working with the Conference and Events Manager, you will plan, deliver and administer events and conferences across a range of high quality international and national conferences, wedding receptions, residential bookings, corporate and social events and filming in the historic and unique surroundings of St Mary’s University in Twickenham.

You will be actively involved with all aspects of events management, with a focus on practical organisation, administration and liaising with external and internal clients to the highest possible standard. You will have operational experience in events and marketing and will be organised and efficient.  You will be comfortable dealing with a range of clients including senior Government officials, academics, visiting professors, high profile individuals, language schoolteachers and children’s clubs.

You will be required to work flexibly including some evening and weekend work, especially in the summer months when the Conferencing team manages residential bookings in the student accommodation on campus.  You will be representing the University at a wide range of events and are expected to present yourself accordingly.

We are seeking professional candidates who understand the importance of providing an exemplary service and have a passion for the hospitality industry. You must be extremely organised with a good approach to problem solving, and the ability to prioritise a busy workload. Exceptional communication and customer service skills are essential. Experience in event planning is essential.  Experience of using a hospitality database would be advantageous.

Due to the nature of the role, the position is campus based and does require occasional evening and weekend working.  Time off in lieu/flexible working is offered to compensate and support working evenings and weekends.
