We are seeking an academic with a science based background with substantial experience in all aspects of higher education and pedagogic design.
The Head of Undergraduate Science will act as the Phase 1 Lead (Years 1 and 2) and will oversee the management and delivery of undergraduate science throughout the 5-year MBBS programme in accordance with the GMC regulations, University requirements and the contingent partner.
The role requires the postholder to work closely with the School of Medicine (SoM) leadership team, the Lead for Phase 2 and Director of Undergraduate Medicine to ensure continuation and alignment of science through both phases of the MBBS Programme. It will also involve teaching and assessment of undergraduate science across all years of the MBBS programme.
The postholder will draw upon their extensive academic experience to carry out research, scholarship, enterprise and engagement, teaching, leadership and management within the SoM.
We will welcome applications from graduates with a PhD with significant experience of educational design, delivery, assessment and evaluation in medical/ biomedical education. The successful candidate will have leadership skills gained through their previous roles and experience of applying for external funding in the form of research/ enterprise grants or consultancy.
